About Us

Greetings!

I hope you enjoy browsing through my ideas and designs. All items are hand made, so it's natural to have some variation between items. This is my hobby and my stress reliever.  Believe me, it can be great therapy! My main objective is to have fun with this. Thus I tend to use multiple techniques when creating my pieces. Sometimes it is pure metalsmithing. Other times, I work with metal clay. Switching between mediums soothes my ADD and helps me to focus. My goal is to make 1 or 3 of a piece. It is not to mass produce anything.

I try to use the best quality stones available within a reasonable price range. I avoid dyed stones where possible, and if I know they are dyed, I will include it in the description. I use both fine silver and sterling silver along with copper and various shades of bronze. Most of the pieces that appear to be gold are really bronze unless otherwise noted.

I always use either Sterling Silver or Fine Silver for my silver earwires. I use Niobium for my darker antique copper earwires. If you have an allergy, email me and we will discuss options.

Some of you may be asking what is metal clay. It is fine metal particles suspend in a binder. It comes in precious metals such as fine silver, sterling silver, gold. It also comes in base metals copper, bronze and steel. There are various colors available in the base metals from white to rose. Metal clay can be shaped and textured as desired. It is then fired in a kiln at a high temperature for various times i.e.. silver can take 30 minutes to 2 hours. Bronze may take up to 6 hours to complete a load. As it fires the binder burns off and the metal particles fuse into metal. It is somewhat more porous than sheet metal, but it is metal.
